Edwardian Diamond Platinum Pearl Pendant Necklace Antique Victorian Flower Motif
An extraordinary Edwardian - Victorian Pendant with spectacular Old Mine Cut Diamonds of incredible white color and fire, and two stunning silvery white Pearls. The Diamonds and Pearls are set in Platinum atop 14 Karat Gold as was the custom of the period. The Diamonds are set in a scroll work leaf motif in Platinum with milgrain beaded borders along the edges of the leaves and scrolls. The larger Diamonds and the Pearls create the flower effect of the pendant. At the bottom is an articulated pendant portion set with a diamond and pearl. The two larger diamonds are each approximately. The gorgeous silvery white pearls are 6mm in diameter.
The Diamonds are all set "a jour", open backed, to give them the ultimate fire and sparkle as the light passes through them. The open work with the Old Mine Diamonds and the beaded milgrain borders in platinum characterize the Edwardian jewels and give them the radiant sparkle that we all just love.
The Edwardian triumvirate of Diamonds, Platinum and Pearls is exquisitely rendered in the jewel. The pendant has a pin stem as well to be used as a brooch if desired. The pin stem can be easily removed if desired. The pendant dates to Circa 1890 - 1910. The listing is only for the pendant.
